I graduated with a degree in Speech and Language Therapy in 2011 from Cardiff Metropolitan University (or UWIC, as it was known back then). I had always wanted to make a difference to children’s lives and to help them reach their full potential, therefore a career in Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) was definitely for me. Once I had graduated from University I worked as a 1:1 In a local school, then as an ABA Therapist with a couple of amazing teenagers, before joining Skybound Therapies within my SLT role in December 2012.
During my time with Skybound I have developed my passion of helping children develop their communication skills by introducing families too and teaching them to use an alternative form of communication, helping the child develop their speech, and troubleshoot to find solutions to any articulation difficulties.
I am also proud to work with many children with expressive and receptive language delays to develop their skills to enable them to participate in class, make meaningful friendships and develop their individual personalities.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, especially my three children (my eldest daughter and boy/girl twins). We love to bake, play in the park, swim and go out for food!! My children have highlighted the importance of individuality and that each child requiring speech and language therapy deserves the time spent ensuring that each programme is tailored to their needs and the delivery of such programmes are based around their interests and learning styles.
